Thinking Society: The Place of the Intellectual

Add to your list(s) Send you e-mail reminders

The intellectual is born of the activity of thinking. She lives an existence in the world, the boundaries and dilemmas of which she tries to face with questions and possible answers beyond the limits of the purely academic.

Where does the intellectual stand nowadays? What kind of world is she facing and with which kind of questions is she confronting it? Does she have a role at all, or is any role or responsibility of the intellectual lost in our time? This lecture series seeks to open up past and current histories of the intellectual to find out her present standing and relation to the world in which she lives.
