UNQW03 - Reducing dimensions and cost for UQ in complex systems Uncertainty Quantification (UQ) is established as an aspect of model-supported inference in scientific and engineering systems. With this expectation comes the desire for addressing increasingly complex applications that challenge the ability of UQ to scale. This talk will describe the view of UQ as a full-system modeling and analysis framework for scientific and engineering models, motivated by the example application of Carbon Capture technology development, and some of the challenging issues that have come up in this multi-level component to full-system modeling effort are discussed, as well as strategies for addressing some of these challenges. Another challenge area is dealing with multivariate responses, and some implications and challenges in this area will be discussed.
