Introduction to Finite Element Methods using Jupyter NotebooksAdd to your list(s) Download to your calendar using vCal
If you have a question about this talk, please contact Chris Richardson. Solving partial differential equations using variational methods has become very popular. The “finite element” method is very convenient for solving problems on complex geometries, but it can be difficult for beginners to understand. I will present some Jupyter Notebooks, which allow the student to interactively experiment with some code in a browser. The code may be interspersed with equations and course notes. The seminar should be applicable to both those who wish to learn about finite element methods, and to those who are interested in teaching tools. This talk is part of the RSE Seminars series.
