Councillor Lucy Nethsingha on Education Policy Design

Councillor Lucy Nethsingha will briefly state her stance on Education Policy Design, before entering a dialogue with a member of the Wolfson College Education Society, followed by an open discussion.

About the Speaker

Lucy Nethsingha is the Liberal Democrat Lead for Children and Young People at the Local Government Association, and Leader of the Liberal Democrat group on Cambridgeshire County Council. Between 2015 and 2017 Lucy chaired the group re-writing Education Policy for the party nationally, a policy which was adopted at the Lib Dem Spring Conference in 2018.

Lucy was a primary teacher until 2015, specialising in her last post in teaching reading to young children who were struggling. Lucy has a MEd degree from Cambridge University, where her research focus was on early identification of Special Educational Needs. Lucy lives in Newnham with her husband and 3 children.
