The mention of ‘electricity storage’ usually brings to mind electro-chemical batteries. This talk, however, will focus on various ‘thermo-mechanical’ storage technologies. The future need for electricity storage will also be discussed, as will Kelvin’s contribution to the subject.

This talk is part of the Kelvin Club - The Scientific Society of Peterhouse, Cambridge series.
