Come to the Department of Chemistry to hear from the legendary author, chemist, and the first speaker of the IYPT Symposium – Andy Brunning! Known for his chemical infographic website, Compound Interest, Andy has spent the year working with the RSC developing a series of posters of the elements for the IYPT .

“Off the back of an #IYPT2019 project to produce an infographic on every element, this talk will explore some of the stories revealed on the way: from archaic element uses, through surprising element applications, to spurious facts and misunderstandings.”

TCSS and ChemSoc have come together, on occasion of the IUPAC International Year of Periodic Table of Chemical Elements 2019, to bring you this talk as a part of the larger IYPT Celebration Symposium. It will take place in the Bristol-Myers-Squibb Lecture Theatre, starting at 18:00. The talk has free entry, and refreshments will be provided. We hope to see you there!
