Nekovář and Scholl’s plectic conjectures predict that Shimura varieties attached to algebraic groups arising via restriction of scalars should be endowed with extra symmetry. I will discuss a geometric interpretation of plectic phenomena in positive and mixed characteristic, which rests on the relation between plectic objects and moduli spaces of Shtukas with several legs.
