The seminar will report on the Belle II experiment, a new detector that has recently started taking data at the SuperKEK electron-positron collider after ten years of preparation, construction, and commissioning. We will briefly review the motivation, the design requirements and choices made, and report on the status of the detector. After discussing some early results we will review the physics program of the experiment and present the outlook.

This talk is part of the Cavendish HEP Seminars series.
