An event to launch this report will be held at the IfM on Wednesday 23 September.

The aim of the report and the work leading up to it has been to capture the latest thinking on developing industrial systems which are much less energy and resource intensive. It recommends the much wider adoption of current best practices and a move towards a much more comprehensive understanding of the structure, operation and impact of industrial systems. The report has been prepared by an international group of academics with long experience of environmental and sustainability issues and a history of close practical engagement with industry.

The launch event will include:

• a brief overview of the aims and recommendations of the report

• contributions from academic and industrial collaborators

• the announcement of the new industry academic network aimed at dissemination and sharing of effective, sustainable industrial practices.

This will be followed by a light buffet. Please contact Jo Griffiths (01223 748260) if you would like to attend.
