If you have a question about this talk, please contact Julia Goedecke. Tannaka duality studies the relationship between certain algebraic structures (usually coalgebras, perhaps with extra structure) and their categories of representations. One of the main problems is to characterise those categories that are categories of finite representations of a coalgebra. I’ll discuss different frameworks to study Tannaka duality and explain why I think we are yet to found the right one. This talk is part of the Category Theory Seminar series.
