Maintaining and enhancing marital quality: preliminary findings of an examination of the mechanisms by which marriages become more or less satisfactory over the first four years

Using a mixed methods approach to analysing data from 3 interviews conducted separately but concurrently with 52 couples over the first four years of their marriage, I will present preliminary findings of the key factors identified that appear to be determinative of their marital trajectories.
