Condition based maintenance and the deployment of monitoring systems to determine the condition of the asset are increasingly becoming popular. However, there are a wide range of systems to choose from depending on the quality of information and system costs. Therefore, it is essential to understand the potential benefits of implementing condition monitoring systems and to choose the appropriate system that would improve the effectiveness of maintenance decisions. This talk focuses on quantifying the impact of condition information availability on maintenance decisions. A systematic methodology will be presented to determine the value of condition information and to examine the factors that influence the benefits delivered by condition monitoring systems.

This talk is part of the DIAL seminars series.
