Mathematics and Applications of Branes in String and M-theory

Despite AdS5 S5 being self-dual under a combination of bosonic and fermionic T-dualities, the same has yet to be said for AdS4 CP3 . However, evidence from D=3 scattering amplitude calculations hint strongly at some self-duality. We explain the obstacles in the context of pp-waves and the D1-D5 near-horizon and comment on whether beta-deformed SYM inherits the same symmetries
