Mathematics and Applications of Branes in String and M-theory

I will describe a class of N=(1,0) superconformal field theories in six dimensions involving the couplings of tensor multiplets to Yang-Mills multiplet in a tensor hierarchy framework in which there is an intricate group structure and the tensor multiplets transform in nontrivial representations of the gauge group. These models were constructed in 1108.4060 and developed further in 1204.0542.
