Engine Downsizing for Fuel Efficiency - UltraBoost Project

The AD Chairman’s Address

Downsizing from 5 litre V8 to 2 litre with the same performance characteristics of Jaguar’s current 5.0L V8 engine but with a 35% drop in CO2 emissions. This is the aim of the Ultraboost project. The project partners are Jaguar Land Rover, Lotus, GE Precision, CD-adapco, Shell, the University of Bath, Imperial College London and the University of Leeds and is part-funded by UK’s Technology Strategy Board.
