Counts of tropical curves are known to correspond to Gromov-Witten invariants in several cases. I will discuss Gross’s construction of mirror symmetry for the projective plane and explain how it can be modified to yield new classes of tropical invariants. These tropical curve counts may compute certain Gromov-Witten invariants.
