The lecture steps through the development of the science of radiochemistry since its discovery around the beginning of the twentieth century to the modern age. The emphasis of the talk is on how the developments in radiochemistry through the decades enabled it to address a variety of areas, and how it is to be used to address the latest challenge offered by the need for of nuclear forensics.
