A group is called coherent if every finitely generated subgroup of it is finitely presented. There exists many classical results about coherence of various classes of groups. For instance, fundamental groups of 3-manifolds are coherent, whereas the direct product of two non-Abelian free groups is not. In this talk, I will discuss results about the coherence of fundamental groups of aspherical Kähler surfaces.
