Jason Ditmmer, professor of Political Geography at UCL , will offer an account of British foreign policy that starts not with elite decisions made in Whitehall, but with the already-existing material connections between various countries’ foreign policy apparatuses. By foregrounding these everyday diplomacies across a range of fields — diplomacy, intelligence, military — it becomes possible to see foreign policy as not just a way for Britain to act in the world, but for the world to act on Britain.
