In the defence of the right to asylum – a case study of the Yazidi people in Syria. Dūzen Tekkal is a german-yazidi journalist and war reporter that will share her personal experience from her trip to Iraq in 2014/2015, during which she traveled to the Sinjar mountains and witnessed the plight of the yazidi minority. These experiences are published in her film HÁWAR (https://vimeo.com/191946649/a91db01a05). After her trip, she also set up an NGO with the same name that supports, informs, and helps the yazidi minority in Iraq (www.HAWAR.help). We look forward to what promises to be a very interesting and important discussion.
