DESCRIPTION:In modern mathematical physics some of the most ch
allenging problems concern quantum theory of field
s and Einsteinian gravity. My research focuses on
situations\, where these two meet\; examples inclu
de Black Holes and the early Universe. There are p
lenty of exciting physical problems in this area o
f research\, but there is also some very interesti
ng mathematics. In this talk\, I will give a pedag
ogical overview of the topics I'm working on and p
resent some of the mathematics involved in my rese
arch.
