Abstract: The lecture will cover analysis
of elastic waves in a flexural plate\, which cont
ains a semi-infinite structured duct.
The prob
lem is reduced to a functional equation of the Wie
ner-Hopf type. The Kernel function reflects on the
quasi-periodic
Green'\;s function for an
infinite periodic structure. Analysis of the Kerne
l function enables us to identify localised wavegu
ide modes.
Homogenisation approximation has be
en derived to explain the modulation of the wave t
rapped within the structured duct.
Analytical
findings are accompanied by numerical examples and
simulations.
