DESCRIPTION:The purpose of this talk is to review the basic re
sults of finite element exterior calculus (FEEC) a
nd to illustrate how the set up gives rise to
to compatible discretizations of various problems.
In particular\, we will recall how FEEC\, combine
d with the Bernstein-Gelfand-Gelfand framework\,gave new insight into the construction of stable
schemes for elasticity methods based on the Helli
nger-Reissner variational principle.
