DESCRIPTION:Dr Subhayan Roy Moulik will be giving a set of 8 l
ectures on Quantum Algorithms. This pedagogical se
ries is aimed at researchers at any level who are
looking to utilise the quantum machinery in their
own research. These lectures will cover algorithmi
c frameworks for quantum computing as well as exam
ples of quantum algorithms for computational mathe
matics and theoretical physics. Although no specif
ic background is a pre-requisite\, mathematical ma
turity\, and familiarity with linear algebra\, the
ory of computation\, or quantum physics would be u
seful. \n\n\nSpeaker Bio: Dr Subhayan Roy Moulik (
DPhil Oxon) is a postdoctoral scholar at UC Berkel
ey (Mathematics) and associated with the NSF-Chall
enge Institute for Quantum Computation\, working o
n quantum computation for computational mathematic
s and theoretical physics. He received his doctora
te from the University of Oxford (Computer Science
) as a Clarendon Scholar\, and wrote a thesis titl
ed 'Quantum Cryptanalysis\, Proof Systems\, and Ca
