DESCRIPTION:Co-author: Piotr Sulkowski (University of W
arsaw\, Caltech)
In this tal
k I will introduce a \;new class of algebraic
curves called extremal A-polynomials of a \;kn
ot and use it to describe BPS invariants introduce
d by Labastida\, Marino\, Ooguri\, and Vafa.
<
br>I will present results obtained from the analys
is of both classical and quantum extremal A-polyno
mials. The first lead to exact formulas for BPS in
variants imposing nontrivial integrality statement
s in number theory. The latter enabled us to const
ruct the combinatorial model for calculating BPS i
nvariants.
I will also indicate how
these results relate to the formalism of quivers i
ntroduced in the talk by Piotr Sulkowski.
