Russian Graduate Seminar Group (RUSSGRADS)
The Russian Graduate Studies Seminar Group, set up in May 2007, is an informal gathering organized by graduate students of Cambridge University’s Slavonic Department. We hold seminars on a fortnightly basis where a student is invited to present a short paper (20 mins max.) based on their current research or chosen topic. The seminars are designed to function as a unique opportunity for budding academics to practise their presentation skills with a group of super-friendly and enthusiastic Russophiles. Proposals for future seminars are always welcome, particularly from new members.
The scope of these seminars has been very wide in the past, covering topics from post-Soviet cartoons to audiovisual poetry and from revolutionary justice to Lenin’s posthumous life. Since the seminars are open to all, students may be invited from any academic department whom you think might be interested in your research.
All talks will be accompanied by kvas and zakuski.
