As Bonfire night approaches, join Chemistry teacher and science demonstrations virtuoso Andrew Szydlo for an unforgettable evening exploring the chemistry of something seemingly rather ordinary: coal.

From its initial discovery, its use as the fuel of the industrial revolution, to some of the more interesting and exciting compounds we can obtain from coal, Andrew will take us on an illuminating tour of this intriguing rock.

Expect lots of flashes, smokes and smells, exciting colourful chemistry, and plenty of flames along the way!
