Abstract
From the Golem legend of the Jewish ghettos to the Terminator hunting us to destruction, the idea of machines in our own image has fascinated and appalled us in equal measure. Star Wars and Star Trek have globalized our view of the future and we all assume that humanoid robots or androids will be joining us soon.
