Abstract
A class of backgrounds containing space-like and null singularities have been argued to be dual to gauge theories with couplings which depend on time or a null coordinate. Of particular interest are models where the gauge theory lives on flat space-time and whose coupling is bounded, becoming small at the “singularity”. We will discuss the physical behavior of the gauge theory for much models and examine whether the weakly coupled gauge theory provides a resolution of the bulk singularity.
