QMC calculations on biexcitons in bilayer systems
- π€ Speaker: Robert Lee (TCM)
- π Date & Time: Wednesday 22 October 2008, 11:20 - 11:40
- π Venue: TCM Seminar Room, Cavendish Laboratory
Abstract
I will introduce the concepts of excitons and exciton condensation, and explain why the bilayer system appears to be a good candidate for realising BEC of excitons experimentally.
I’ll then talk about some recent quantum Monte Carlo calculations to determine the region of stability of biexcitons and the form of the exciton-exciton interaction, comparing our findings with those from other methods.
