Abstract
Sir David came to this Department as the 1920 Professor of Physical Chemistry in 1988. In 2000 he became Chief Scientific Advisor to the Government, stepping down in 2007 to become Director of the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment in Oxford. For many years he has been outspoken on the subject of the science and politics of climate change, and is presently heading the Centre for Climate Repair here in Cambridge.
