We are pleased to welcome two former PhD students from the Department of Plant Sciences, Drs Melissa Barrett and Nick Betson, as well as my niece, Leila, who are employed in very different areas of the environmental consultancy industry. Nick works for RPM , and Leila, Mott-MacDonald, and both are heavily into newts, toads and badgers in a practical conservation sense. Melissa, who also now works with a former Part II Zoologist who she recruited after this exercise two years ago, is engaged in climate change issues and more strategic applications for industry with Arthur D. Little. They will explain their current roles, we can discuss points of entry into the industry (straight from degree, Masters of PhD), and you can quiz them over their current varied activities. Please feel free to bring along friends taking other degree streams who might be interested. Professor Howard Griffiths
