Abstract
Supersymmetric orbifold GUTs are well-motivated models for physics beyond the Standard Model. In this talk we will discuss their general structure and briefly review how they can be derived from heterotic string theory. We will show how to extract the resulting MSSM parameters, focussing in particular on the MSSM Higgs sector. We will also present an analysis of the mass spectrum and phenomenology of an explicit example, namely, a 5d orbifold model with gauge-Higgs unification.
Series This talk is part of the HEP phenomenology joint Cavendish-DAMTP seminar series.
