Abstract
This talk is a preview of the one that will be given at Mobiles for the Senior Market on the 26th of October. It looks at the problems of current designs and how they can be addressed. The talk argues that the approach of simplify existing user interaction frameworks does not address the needs of older users and that different interaction designs are required. It also discusses the issue of aesthetics and why it is important not stigmatise older users. The talk includes a video that shows just how hard it is for older users to just turn a phone on!
Series This talk is part of the Engineering Design Centre series.
