Abstract
Peter Pilbeam will try to explain why otters are the favourite mammal of many people. There will be particular emphasis on the presence (and absence) of otters in the county as found during joint surveys by the Cambridgeshire Mammal Group and the BCNWT , and during the 6th National Otter Survey, and on the survey methodologies used. It won’t be telling you where you can go and sit and watch them, but it will give some good indications of where to go and try!
