Abstract
Many people continue to ask the question ‘which is the smarter sex?’ Using examples from the UK standardisation of the Raven’s Progressive Matrices, I will discuss two different approaches to answering this age-old question. I will discuss the commonly-used Classical Test Theory, and will try to convince the audience that the modern methods of Structural Equation Modelling are the better option.
