Abstract
I will present a joint work with Shachar Carmeli dedicated to the construction of E_infty complex orientations for commutative ring spectra obtained from complex oriented ones via S^1 Tate fixed-points. Among other things, this construction provides a spectral lift of the total Chern class, originally constructed by Lawson and Michelson using the theory of algebraic cycles. It also gives E_infty refinements of some well-known complex orientations such as the Jacobi orientation of Ando-French-Ganter.
