Abstract
Gates Cambridge and Centre of Development Studies are excited to host a panel discussion on “Doing Economic Policy in Anti-Policy Times” with Dr Todd Tucker, Dr Jostein Hauge, and Dr Shachi Amdekar.
Join us for this timely conversation exploring how economic policy can be shaped and implemented in an era where expert opinion and evidence are increasingly contested.
After the panel discussion and Q&A, guests are invited to the drinks reception that will follow.
Bios Dr Todd Tucker | As director of the industrial policy and trade program at the Roosevelt Institute, Todd, a political scientist, leads Roosevelt’s work on the role of governance and institutions (both national and international) in facilitating economic transformation.
Tim Sahay | Co-editor with Kate Mackenzie of The Polycrisis, a publication at Phenomenal World that focuses on the political economy of Climate with an emphasis on global south development. He is also the co-director with Bentley Allan of the Net Zero Industrial Policy Lab at Johns Hopkins University.
Dr Shachi Amdekar | An international and development economist, currently leading policy development on global economic resilience at the Cabinet Office.
