Abstract
In this presentation Dan Jones from Flybrid Systems will describe the design and development of Flybrid Systems’ high speed flywheel hybrid technology. Topics covered will include:- Short history of company since it started trading in January 2007
- Description of Flybrid System’s products and their specifications
- An outline of development progress to date
- How the system effects an F1 car
- Applications in other race series and for road vehicles
- Q&A
Dan Jones is a Design Engineer at Flybrid Systems. Dan studied Motorsport Technology at the University of Hertfordshire, which included a sandwich year at Nissan’s European Technical Centre in Cranfield. After graduating in 2006 he went to work for Bentley Motors as a suspension design engineer before joining Flybrid Systems in June 2007.
Dan is also involved with the IMechE Formula Student event. Having competed in Class 1 in 2006 he has since been a design judge in 2007/2008 and a technical scrutineer from 2008 on.
