Abstract
Learning Objectives: At the end of this lecture, the participant will be able to… 1. Explain UK Biobank’s set-up and access procedures. 2. Discuss types of research and findings using UK Biobank’s cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) study 3. Discuss the potential of multi-organ imaging in a population study.
Outline: • UK Biobank’s cardiovascular magnetic resonance study: rationale, challenges, opportunities. • Approach to cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) at scale. • Approach to redefine CMR reference ranges. • Estimation of biological heart age using CMR . • Insights into cardiovascular health, disease and risk prediction using CMR • Research exemplar of multi-organ imaging in a population study.
