Abstract
Replacing traditional paper-based labbooks in our discovery-focussed Nano-photonics research centre with tablet PCs enables great increases in productivity, interactivity, inter-disciplinary collaboration, and collective know-how. However surfacing information that is embedded in all these electronic resources now becomes a major imperative. We describe here a project together with Microsoft External Research and Surface Teams and the University of Konstanz, on multi-platform multi-user tools to enable Surfacing and Visualisation across teams.
