Abstract
A half-day event showcasing the Department’s current PhD research to a wider audience and providing an opportunity for the PhD students to obtain feedback. This year, 5 final-year students are presenting their findings and 2 first-year students are presenting their initial research ideas for comments. Topics include:
1. ARCHITECTURE IN HISTORY (1:30-3pm)

Henrik Schoenefeldt – The Crystal Palace – a Pioneering Experiment with Appropriating the Horticultural Glasshouse Prototype for Human Purposes
2. SOCIAL DIMENSION OF SPACE (3-4:30pm)

Alastair Donald – The Integrated Metropolis: Mixed Use, Specialisation and Interdependence in Metropolitan Areas
3. URBAN CLIMATE & ENERGY (4:30-5:50pm)
Daniel Godoy-Shimizu – Urban Energy Performance Modelling
Juan José Sarralde Tassara – Modelling the Integration of Energy Strategies into the Design of Urban Clusters
Kam Shing Leung – Climate-Responsive Morphology for High-Density Tropical Housing
