In this talk Maajid Nawaz will draw on his own personal experiences as a former leading member of global Islamist group Hizb ut-Tahrir to explain why he adopted Islamism, and how he came to realise that it was actually a modern political ideology disguising itself as Islam, the global faith followed by 1.5 billion individuals.

Recently featured on 60 Minutes Maajid Nawaz is the co-founder and co-director of the Quilliam Foundation, the world’s first counter-extremist think tank.

This talk is part of the Pembroke Papers, Pembroke College series.
