Abstract
Laser-driven flyers are punched from a few microns of metal deposited onto a fused quartz window using a focussed Nd:YAG laser pulse. By improving the quality of the laser pulse and the design of the laser flyer, the velocity achieved by the flyer is increased for a given pulse energy.
