Partial Differential Equations in Kinetic Theories

We will survey recent results and open questions on the long wave limit of the Gross-Pitaevskii equation (cubic defocusing nonlinear Schrdinger equation with finite Ginzburg-Landau energy) in the so-called transonic regime.
