Professor John Loughlin (POLIS and St Edmund’s)and his fellow editors, Professors Frank Hendriks (University of Tilburg) and Anders Lidstrom (University of UmeĆ„), will present their new book The Oxford Handbook of Local and Regional Democracy in Europe (Oxford University Press,2010) on Friday 4 February at 5 pm in the Senior Common Room. Professor John Dunn (King’s), will say a few words about the book. The Handbook is a survey of subnational democracy in the 27 EU member states plus Norway and Switzerland. It raises the question of the theory and practice of subnational democracy and provides a wealth of information about all 29 European states. All are welcome to attend.
