I will present a simple construction showing that every abstract clone (equivalently, mono-sorted Lawvere theory) can be represented as the clone of equivariant functions on a monoid action.

The method does not seem adaptable to the representation of operads; though, aiming in this direction, I will give a characterisation of the operadic abstract clones.
