The CU German Society in cooperation with the Cambridge Union Society invites you to an informal discussion with the renowned German entrepreneur and SPD politician Harald Christ on May 23, 5:30pm in the Kennedy Room of the Cambridge Union Society (9a Bridge Street).

A classic self-made man, Mr Christ rose from his first job as a clerical apprentice to top management positions, including assignments as head of private banking at WestLB, CEO of Weber-Bank, and managing director of private and business clients at Deutsche Bank. He achieved great success as CEO of HCI Capital and is currently chairman and owner of Conomus Treuhand AG. In 2009, Frank-Walter Steinmeier appointed him shadow minister of economic affairs. Since then, he has been regarded as a potential Minister of Economic Affairs in a future SPD government.

The event will be a fascinating opportunity for everyone interested – from undergraduate to senior scholar – to meet and discuss with a key player in German politics and economics. The event will be in German. All are welcome.

This talk is part of the CU German Society Talks series.
