The D0 collaboration has introduced new variables (called aT and phi*) to accurately probe the low transverse momentum region of Z boson production at hadron colliders. I present a state-of-the-art analytical calculation of these new variables that contains the resummation of large logarithms up to next-to next-to leading logarithmic accuracy, matched to a full next-to leading order calculation. Theoretical predictions are performed accounting for the experimental cuts introduced by the D0 collaboration and it is compared to the data.
