Abstract
Sir Thomas Beecham once said: “Try anything once but incest and folk-dancing”. Anyone with good taste will concur that both sentiments are true. Sexual reproduction is natureβs ultimate vehicle to genetic diversity. However, inbreeding (strongly counteracting diversity) occurs far more commonly than we assume (even in Britain).
